The Shore is special to Molly Tague and Brandon Vigorito for many reasons.
Molly grew up in Spring Lake, the pair met in Asbury Park in September 2016, and Brandon proposed in Red Bank. For their first date, they planned to grab a drink at Watermark in Asbury Park but it was closed, so they ended up at Brickwall Tavern (now Homesick).
Even when they were just dating, they’d talk about tying the knot in Asbury Park. “Hands down, we have to have it at the Watermark,” Molly recalls the pair saying about their future wedding.
As it turns out, Watermark really was the perfect venue for their November 3, 2023, wedding. “We were trying to step away from the traditional wedding and make it us,” says Molly. “If you want a laidback wedding but [one where] you also can create so much, I highly recommend the Watermark.”
From the start of the wedding day at the Asbury Ocean Club Hotel, where the bride and bridesmaids got ready, to the Berkeley Oceanfront Hotel, where the groom, groomsmen and
the couple’s dogs, Hamilton and Brodie, hung out, to their epic boardwalk photo shoot, Molly and Brandon’s wedding day was an ode to Asbury Park.
They took their first look and bridal party shots in front of the murals on Sunset Pavilion. Molly loved the photos they captured under the Asbury Park Convention Hall sign.
“There’s so much history there,” she says.
They also had fun posing on the boardwalk by the old casino and in a pink convertible car by the carousel building at night. “I like vintage, classic, boho,” says Molly of the aesthetic she wanted for her wedding day.
Molly and Brandon are both “junk food lovers,” so in addition to having chocolate-covered Oreos from Sweet Revenge Custom Chocolate in Point Pleasant Beach on their dessert bar, they rented the Freehold-based My Treat Truck. Filled with candy and McDonald’s goodies, guests helped themselves to late-night snacks.
For their first anniversary, Molly and Brandon plan to stay at the Asbury Ocean Club Hotel and reminisce about their big day.
